About Firewalk ... 
The Firewalk business was originally founded by Jon Gregory in 1993, renaming from 'Performance Control' in 2000. The purpose of the company is to supply interim management and business consultancy services to a mixed client base, mainly within the manufacturing, technology, engineering and service sectors, under the themes of:
  • Business development
  • Change and turnaround
  • Organisational improvement

Whilst much of the work for clients, particularly on turnarounds, has involved putting out fires and rebuilding, a great deal of experience has been gained in the field of performance improvement. Sales development, customer service improvement and productivity increases have all proven to be strong suits with rewarding results for clients. At a time when companies need an input quickly from experienced hands with proven leadership skills, Firewalk provide a highly cost-effective solution. With a sound grasp of best practice and the ability to implement change simply, Firewalk can make a difference - fast.

Jon Gregory
The start of Jon's career was in production engineering and operations management. He moved successfully into commercial and then general management, working at board level in both SME and corporate organisations during his thrities.
 
He founded Firewalk in 1993 and has worked in interim or project roles since, usually on business development, change or turnaround projects.
 
Jon has a very strong interest in both individual and team development and provides coaching and support on a one-to-one basis, as well as running group training sessions, in between interim assignments.
 
Jon's interim assignments have included a substantial number of international roles and he has worked throughout the UK, EMEA, the BRICS countries and the Americas.
 
Melanie Gregory FCCA
Melanie, a director of Firewalk, is a qualified accountant with a strong commercial background originally gained from developing international business for a market leading UK company.
 
For the last ten years Melanie has provided high level finance and accountancy input at director level to the private, public and third sectors.
 
Her work has frequently involved helping organisations to:
  • regain control of ineffectively managed finances;
  • implement new management control systems;
  • structure funding bids;
  • adminstrate and control funding deployment.
She is an invaluable member of the Firewalk team.

Associates ...
When appropriate for larger assignments, Firewalk co-opts additional resource on a project from associated key individuals who are experts in their own field of work.
 
Larry van Howe
Larry has extensive skills in IT. Following a successful career which saw him working on both sides of the Atlantic, he has spent the last seventeen years providing IT consultancy and key technology support to leading organisations.
 
Richard Green
Richard has held several board-level appointments during the course of his management career and lead market-leading organisations to achieve operational excellence. Via his consultancy company, Talent Consulting, Richard has worked in both the private and public sectors and has an excellent mix of both operational and commercial skills.
 
Derek Beck
Derek has held roles at executive level with two UK Plcs and is particularly experienced in the fields of supply chain management, service level management, MIS implementation and facility and resource management.
 
Like the rest of the Firewalk team he has extended his skills via his consultancy (CRE Solutions), gaining wide experience by working on a variety of projects for many publically-owned leading-brand organisations.
