Firewalk have pioneered an individual approach toward training supervisors and managers to improve their own performance. The same approach directly encourages team-building and the alignment of departmental objectives with those of the organisation as a whole. Our 'Workgroup' methodology ensures that people actually apply learning straight away, the result being immediate improvement for the department or company.

Training for change

In a project role, Jon Gregory used the workgroup approach to help turn around an ailing company. The result was the removal of four layers of management, a complete reorganisation of all operations and substantially improved productivity, customer service and profitability. An even better result was lasting change in all of the managers.

Elite training 

The elite Fellowship in Manufacturing Management program run by Cranfield University wanted a way to steer, focus and direct prospective managers remotely during their placement year. Firewalk designed a supporting program, incorporating the workgroup approach, which integrated with the managers' roles in industry and enabled easier mentoring. The resut was a higher level of both performance and achievement, coupled with improved employment prospects.

Team building

A client was faced with a major expansion program, but limited by managers whose primary reasons for appointment were sadly cheapness and availablility. Not one of six key people was either professionally trained, qualified or experienced. Jon Gregory used the workgroup approach to focus and train the managers, step by step, on the job.
 
The result was a dramatic and lasting change in all of them and an astounding level of individual achievement that far exceeded their own expectations. The company, a subsidiary of a FTSE 100 Plc, was thereafter a top 5 performer every single month on the key metrics of ROS, ROI, cash generated and debtor management.
